Fig distillate is uncommon but distinctive. Its best-known form is Mahia, the traditional Moroccan Jewish spirit made from figs (often with anise), revived in the United States by Nahmias et Fils in Yonkers, New York. Craft houses like Tin City also distill fig among their experimental fruit brandies.
